Liguria is a beautiful strip of coastline in the north-west of Italy known as the Italian Riviera. Liguria Includes the beautiful towns of the Cinque Terre and Portofino. Wine is produced from predominantly Vermentino, Pigato (a clone of Vermentino) and Rossese.
'Heroic' winemaking is carried out in the steep terraced vineyards along the the coast. All work is carried out by hand resulting in production mainly from small artisan producers.
