Nebbiolo is the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco -- two of Italy's most celebrated reds. This is your entry point into that world, without the Barolo price tag.
Attilio Ghisolfi's Nebbiolo comes from young south-facing vines in Piemonte, matured for 12 months in oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle before release. The result is an approachable, elegant style -- bright ruby in the glass, with an intense floral nose and a warm, savoury palate. Silky tannins, good structure, and a long finish. Much more accessible than its bigger brother Barolo, but with all the character you'd expect from this noble grape.
Perfect with roasted white meats, rabbit, veal, or a simple risotto with mushrooms.
