Wine has been made here since 4000 BC making Sicily one of the oldest wine regions in the world.
Sicily has its own bunch of varietals the most widely planted are - grapes - Grillo, Catarratto, Carricante, Inzolia (Ansonica) and the highly aromatic Zibbibo. Red grapes- Nero D'Avola, Perricone, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio.
