The 150 year old Carignano vines are located on sandy soil 50 meters above sea level, kissed by the sun and touched by the wind. Yields are extremely low and there is no use of chemical treatments. The 6MURA Carignano is produced with carefully selected grapes and harvested by hand between the end of August and the beginning of September. The bunches are de-stemmed and gently pressed to then carry out the alcoholic fermentation, spontaneously, in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in tonneaux and old barriques.
6Mura is one of very few European Vineyards using ungrafted vines. In the early 1900s phylloxera destroyed most of Europe’s vineyards. A tiny spider that eats the roots killing the vine was the culprit. 90% of vineyards were replanted with American vines.
