Giba Bianco from Cantina Giba is a floral, fresh and delicate white wine produced in the south west of the Italian Island Sardinia. Hailing from the Sulcis territory where the predominantly hot and sunny climate, scarce rainfall and fresh mistral winds allow the varietal to find one of its maximum territorial expressions. The Giba Bianco is 100% Vermentino di Sardinia from 30 year old vines located by the sea with a south and south/east exposure on sandy-clayey soils. The Giba Bianco Vermentino di Sardegna is produced with carefully selected grapes and harvested by hand somewhere between the end of August and the beginning of September. The bunches are de-stemmed and gently pressed in the cellar to then carry out the alcoholic fermentation spontaneously in stainless steel tanks. The Giba Bianco is aged for 6 months in stainless steel vats.
Giba Bianco is a bright straw yellow colour. The nose features intense aromas of yellow fruit and citrus fruits, including peach and grapefruit, floral notes of white flowers, mineral hints and a pleasant almond recall. In the mouth it is clean, fresh, straight and soft, characterised by beautiful sapid and mineral notes. This Vermentino di Sardegna is a harmonious and balanced white wine that fully expresses all the aromaticity of the grape.
Best paired with seafood dishes like oysters, tuna carpaccio, spaghetti vongole, and fish stew.
