2022 Le Terre Diverse Etna Bianco is a collaboration between Tuscan winemaker Paolo Caciorgna and his former student Nicola Berti that started in Irpinia, an area of excellence that is attracting more and more attention. The pair's second acquisition is on the north side of Mount Etna. The vineyards extend in Castiglione di Sicilia, in the Contrada Santo Spirito, on porous and deep soils composed of volcanic ash, with traces of sand and mineral richness.
Made with 100% Carricante. Carricante is a white wine native to Sicily. It is a late-ripening vine and is the main white varietal used in the Etna DOC. Carricante produces a fresh, straw-yellow, lightly fragrant white wine. The name Carricante comes from the Italian word caricare (to load, to burden), in reference to the variety's heavy yields.
